Echinacea and Bee Propolis Throat Spray
joins the immune stimulants that have been studied in several scientific
researches. The presence of the honey provides a pleasant flavor and it
benefits the organism with its properties.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The Echinacea angustifolia is an original plant
of the United States and it has been used since several centuries for the native Indians
of this country. Already in 1907, the echinacea was the most popular herb used
by the American medicine. It promotes the increase of the defenses of the
organism, activity confirmed through numerous scientific studies.
The echinacea is constituted by a range of compounds that are
responsible for its biological activity. They are: alcamine (isobutilamide),
esters of the caffeic acid (mainly echinacosids and cinarine), pirrolizidinics
alkaloids, polysaccharides, volatile oils, echinolon, betaine, phytoesterois.
Propolis is a resinous and balsamic substance, and it
has different types of colorations and consistencies, varying to brown color to dark green. It is
produced by the bees from leave, sprouts and exudates of plants, and used inside
the beehive, " to hold " comb honey, to varnish the alveoli and to close
gaps
to avoid the entrance of cold wind and natural
enemies: fungus and bacteria.
The chemical composition of the propolis depend on the
flora of each area and the bee race; but in general, it is
compose of 50% of resin and balm, 30% of wax, 10% of essential and aromatic
oils, 5% of pollen and 5% of several other substances. Until now, there are already more than 200 chemical compounds identified in the propolis, like:
flavonoids, aromatic acids, terpenoids, aldehydes, alcohols, aliphatic acid and
esters, amino acids, steroids, sugar, etc. The intense studies on propolis
reveal that these compounds are the responsible for its several physiologic
actions.
Uniflora works only with selected best propolis, and use state-of-the-art equipments developed to maximize the extraction of
highly concentrated propolis. Our laboratories analyze the composition of each
extract and prepare a " form blend " to obtain the standardized propolis extract
that is used in the products.
The honey is produced by bees from the nectar of the
flowers. It is a rich food, which presents in its composition simple sugars with
fast assimilation on the organism, mineral salts (potassium, sodium, calcium,
phosphorus, iron, manganese, etc.), amino acids, enzymes and vitamins.
Honey facilitate the ingestion and absorption of the
products, and prevents the oxidation of its ingredients.
